SAR Disaster Response

Task forces

Our certified SAR members are trained to operate effectively in hazardous environments and maintain continuous situational awareness through rigorous risk assessments. Members are proficient in ICS structure and execute mission-specific tasks with minimal supervision and maximum efficiency.

Disaster Response

Disaster response task forces execute a wide range of assignments as requested by the authority having jurisdiction (AHJ). Each task force is composed of trained SAR personnel organized under designated leadership, with the capacity to sustain operations through appropriate rotations and team structure.


Access Control: 

  • Provides traffic control and safety measures.

Evacuations: 

  • Distributes evacuation notices for community awareness. 
  • Distributes evacuation orders and assists with evacuation procedures.

Geomatics:

  • Provides experienced SAR personnel to support sustained 24/7 response
  • Offers geomatics expertise to the AHJ.
  • Utilizes mapping tools and GPS for precise navigation, orientation and coordinate relay during incidents.
  • Supports pre-evacuation planning to inform resource allocation and community evacuation strategies.
  • Enables real-time tracking of field resources to enhance situational awareness.
  • Conducts post-incident mapping of hazards (e.g., powerlines, fires, gas leaks) and key locations.

Logistics: 

  • Supports partner agencies through the transport and delivery of equipment, supplies and resources, operating under tasking agency direction.

Volunteer Management: 

  • Task force members possess the ability to coordinate and direct personnel groups in the execution of designated taskings (from the above list). Such groups may comprise municipal staff, volunteers, community response groups / volunteer groups and/or spontaneous volunteers.
